The perfect white pyramid of Tetnuldi is not technically difficult to climb. There are some steep slopes, snow ascents, a glacier and vertical drops on both sides of the path. The reward is a fantastic view of Ushba, Banguriani, the Bezengi wall, Elbrus and a dozen more summits of the Great Caucasus.
Itinerary
6 Day Course give the group flexibility and icrease a chance of summiting.
Arrival Day - Welcome Meeting
The trip starts with an evening meeting with your leader guide and the other members of your group. Your guide will go though the itinerary for the week and answer any questions you may have.
Day 1 - Hike up to Koruldi Lakes
Acclimatization hike from Mestia (1450) to Koruldi Lakes (2740).This is a great way to acclimatise for Tetnuldi.
Day 2 - Climb to the base camp
At this day we start the main part of a trip. Our group is droped-off by car or by the ski resort lift at 3000 m. Then our legs make 4-5 hours hike'n'climb to 3700 m - base camp for summiting.
Day 3 - Ice practice/Crampon Skills on the Tetnuldi glacier
We practise crampon skills on the glacier there. Guide(s) show you the best technics and explain the speciality of climbing Tetnuldi for current weather and conditions.
Day 4 - Climb Tetnuldi, summit
You are ready for a BIG DAY! Early rise and start off at 3 a.m. Total distance for the day is about 9 km.
Day 5 - Climb Tetnuldi, second summit attempt if required
If you have not summited the day before, you will make the attempt today. Camp at 3700 m. Optional: descent and pick-up by car.
Day 6 - Relaxation and returtning to Mestia
Descent from the base camp to Svaneti Outdoor Adventures party to celebrate!
